Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra has promised to sponsor 5,000 youths to join driving courses within the next 5 years.
Through a post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, Mishra said that the first phase of the training of the youths begins this month.
This is among the promises the first-term MP made during the campaigns for the August 8 poll.
“My first phase of training and licensing youths within my Constituency will kick off this month as I had earlier stated. I am determined by the grace of God to sponsor 5,000 youths within this period of 5 years," posted Mishra.
Mishra said the high rate of unemployment among youths in his constituency motivted him to come up with the initiative.
“Youths are the backbone of our society and by training them helps in reducing the vulnerability of unemployed young women and men by expanding and enhancing the effectiveness of youth empowerment program that was stipulated in my manifestation booklet chapter 6 roman (v)," he noted.
Those targeted in the initiative are unemployed youth within the age bracket of 18 to 35 years and the National Identification Card (IDs) is the only requirement to become a beneficiary.
