An Administrative Police officer based in Kibera has embarked on leading open crusades as a way of preaching peace and reforming criminals in the slum.
Stephen Muthondeki as he is officially known has taken the initiative of transforming the area through gospel. He is currently running the program across the villages in Kibera where he targets the criminals by urging them to surrender their lives to God.
While preaching at Gatwekera Village on Thursday, the officer reiterated the need to have a religious community that has respect to one another by protecting lives and property.
"The government has allowed me to meet you with the word and not the weapon because I believe that this word is stronger than the weapon.Through this word, we realise how sweet it is to live in harmony by protecting one other's lives and property," he said.
He also urged the public to treat police officers as law enforcers and not as enemies.
"God has given us the grace to protect you and, therefore, we are not enemies. Seek the word of God and you will realise how good the police are to you. It is time to come out of your evil ways and make peace with everyone," said the officer.
