This week, our headlines have been dominated not by human beings, but by cows!
From the Kenya-Tanzania border to the killing fields of Laikipia, it has all been the same story with the lead character being Cow.
There supporting characters in this drama in both situations, as you can guess, are the Maa people of Kenya.
President John Pombe Magufuli, who may have taken a little 'pombe', has ordered all Kenyan cows and chicken to recognize that they are about to cross into Tanzania!
"Hatuwezi tukalisha ng'ombe za mwingine," he fumed in fluent Swahili.
Yet what is shocking is his action of carrying out 'genocide' against the chicks of all the hens from Kenya which refused to heed his warning of not crossing the border! Chineke!
You can guess what Magufuli did with the fairly old hens!
Back home in Laikipia, there was the alleged massacre of cows where, reportedly, over 300 cows lost their lives courtesy, allegedly again, of Boinett's boys.
This time, the cows were not trying to cross over to Tanzania. They were venturing into 'British territory' without the requisite visas.
It appears that cows will continue to dominate our lives.
The underlying issue should however not be lost.
Underneath this story of cows becoming arrogant to humans and crossing borders without permission lies the serious issue of conflict over resources.
Sebo Kaguta Museveni has equally been telling Kenyan fish and their fishermen not to venture into Ugandan territory via Migingo!
As things turn out, Kenya may be forced to start zero-grazing units for all its cows to avoid conflict.
