The ODM Mp, who has also defended the talks, said there is nothing sinister about the push to pool the Gusii vote in one basket.

Speaking at Itibo primary school in Bobasi constituency on Sunday during the burial of Dancun Mamboleo, who died in the road accident that claimed the lives of seven students three weeks ago at Etora on the Kisii-Kilgoris road he said that Gusii region should be united at all times and propaganda making round should stop.

He refuted claims that Kisii county governor will lose his seat in 2017 for failing to deliver.

"To me, Ongwae is doing well. Our agenda is bigger than just Kisii county," he said.

The legislator denied reports that the proponents of the unity talks want to take the community to Jubilee.

"The ultimate decision on whether we are joining Jubilee or Cord will be made by the people. We want to use our numbers to bargain for other seats even in Nairobi and at the national government," he said.

Ongwae, who was also present at the funeral, steered clear of politics and thanked Onyonka for the nice remarks.

Onyonka was responding to Bobasi parliamentary aspirant Omari Mogusu who asked the leaders to reveal the agenda of their talks.

"We have heard about this unity talks but tell us the contents of your discussions. Come clear and tell us what you want," said Mogusu.

An aspirant for the Kitutu Chache north parliamentary seat Stephen Nyarangi told Obure to retire from active politics.

"Obure has been in politics since 1996. Why is it occurring to him now that they are in need for Kisii unity? He should just retire from politics. his time is up," Nyarangi added.
