According to the two leaders, it was time to unite the country.

The leaders said that they will not allow the country to burn as they watch.

The newfound truce was welcomed by Jubilee and NASA despite the fact that Deputy President William Ruto and other NASA co-principals were missing from the Harambee House event.

However, according to NASA co-principals Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, and Kalonzo, they only heard about the talks through the media.

They have demanded an explanation from Raila why he visited Uhuru alone.

It should be noted that Raila had said that he will not accept Uhuru Kenyatta as the legit president claiming that he was a product of a flawed election system.

In a statement issued on Friday, Musalia Mudavadi's spokesperson Kibisu Kabatesi said that Raila should state his stand regarding Uhuru's presidency.

“Our questions are, has he [Raila] finally accepted the legitimacy of Uhuru Kenyatta as the President of the Republic of Kenya? This habit of sneaking is not very good for confidence building in the coalition,” said Kabatesi.

The meeting between the two leaders caught many by surprise eliciting mixed reactions.
