Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has termed the recently concluded repeat presidential election as a show of political maturity by Kenyans.
Mandago says many African countries and the rest of the world will come to learn from this election.
Speaking in Eldoret on Saturday, the governor further hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta for accepting to go back to the ballot even after the Supreme Court nullified his victory in the August 8 poll.
"Kenyatta has gone down as the only president who won an election, the courts annulled his win and he accepted to go back to the campaigns," Mandago said.
"This is the only country where nobody has announced himself as a president in one corner and the other in another corner despite the fierce political competition," he added.
The Jubilee allied governor further pointed out that the largely peaceful election process in the country is a clear statement to the rest of the world that African countries have matured in managing their own affairs.
"We should be proud as Kenyans that we are the only country where an election has been annulled and there's is no war. Other countries across the world will live to emulate us," he said.
