The book ‘Pealing back the mask’ by Miguna Miguna seemed like the nail in the coffin of his infant political career back in 2012. In the book, the always bitter Miguna chastised Hon. Raila and how he handled the affairs of the ODM party. Such a move to criticize Baba was seen as political blasphemy. More so, since the two belong to the same Ethnic group!
In the book. Miguna claimed that he had been disillusioned after a few months working for Raila. He claimed Baba had no clear vision and his inner circle was full of sycophants and corrupt cronies using Baba to get richer.
Miguna promoted the book for a while in Kenya amidst threats from devout followers of Raila and ODM. Miguna sensed danger and moved back to Canada faster than greased lightning!
Come 2017 and during the just-concluded poll, we saw Miguna slugging it out with other Nairobi gubernatorial candidates. He had flown back earlier in the year and expressed his interest in cleaning up Nairobi.
Rather than campaigning and serving up his manifesto, Miguna did what he does best: he insulted anyone and everyone that crossed his path. He was seen on live television insulting Esther Passaris in a non-gentleman manner. He was also seen referring to Hon. Kidero and Sonko as cartels and drug barons.
Lately, he has been seen insulting media presenters and political analysts via twitter. His victims include Mutahi Ngunyi, Larry Madowo, Hon. Uhuru, Hon. Sonko…just to name a few.
His insults border on disrespect and insanity!
It is with these observations that one can conclude that Dr. Miguna wants a piece of the political action in Kenya. The problem is that he is going about it the wrong way. He is creating more enemies than allies.
If he is indeed a wise lawyer and a full doctor at that, he needs to read a few books on political tactics. Of importance are ‘The Prince’ and ‘The Art of War’. These two books are the foundation of any political science classroom in the world.
Maybe by reading these books, he will not look like a deranged old man seeking attention. But rather as a wise NRM general as he claims to be on twitter.
