Nyamweya was banned from all matters of local football for a period of 10 years, but the High Court revoked the ruling.

Justice Mwita, in his ruling, declared that the ten-year suspension by the FKF National Executive Committee held on March 21st, 2017 was unlawful and irrational.

And in a statement issued by the former FKF Chief, he will be willing to return to head local football.

"I retired from football management when I opted not to participate in the last elections that ushered in Nick Mwendwa, my former TMS Manager who I believed will take it to the next level,"

"Sadly, he has failed astronomically. I today announce that I am coming out of retirement courtesy of Nick Mwendwa who provoked me by purporting ten years ban on me from all football activities,"

"Together with people who are ready to save our game from the current autocratic and radar less leadership, we are going to work together to save Kenyan football from the current fall,"

The elections are scheduled for 2019.
