Without a doubt, all eyes will be glued on the hitherto obscure name of one man- Rashid Echesa.From the equivalent of Ralph Ellison's 'Invisible Man', Mr. Echeza has risen from his obscure past to put him in the enviable club of hustlers.It seems that in the process, he has attracted the attention of hustler number one, William Samoei Ruto. 

Those who know Ruto will tell you that he is a self-made man who rose from being a chicken-seller at Maili-Tisa near Turbo to be the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya.It is therefore not a mere coincidence that DP Ruto chose to join Echeza in his homecoming party in Western.

I do not wish to diminish the importance of other players in the region in the 2022 race. Ababu Namwamba is equally an important denominator in this political equation. The Budalangi legislator seems to have learned fast that politics is fluid and those who swim against the current are likely to perish. Ask the immediate former Nandi legislator Hon. Alfred Keter. He will definitely warn you that William Samoei Ruto does not take political dissent kindly and will stop at nothing to uproot all stamps along his political path.

 I will delve on the man from Maragoli, one Mudavadi. To be honest, his political star is diminishing by the day. It is therefore imperative to argue that his sell-by date and shelf-life is gone and he will, therefore, have no political significance come 2022. 

Eugene Wamalwa, on the other hand, seems to have perfected his art of smiling his way into the hearts of several regimes and will still carry the Wamalwa dynasty influence beyond 2022.

Mark my words however; you should learn the name Rashid Echeza like the nursery school rhymes of the yester-years. This man is definitely headed for greatness.
