The Wiper Party’s demands of equal sharing of house committee slots have once again hit the opposition, threatening to slow down Raila Odinga’s swearing-in plans.

The Kalonzo-Musyoka led party met on Wednesday, where they aired their grievances over unequal sharing of slots.

They further accused ODM of bulldozing the other parties, taking advantage of their numerical strength in the house.

They, however, want Musyoka to demand the replacement of Chief Whip Suna East MP Junet Mohamed of ODM with Kathiani legislator Robert Mbui.

The seat, they say had been reserved for Mbui.

“There has been some disquiet regarding the sharing of house (slot) committees and we have asked our party leader at the summit to talk about this matter because it is not a light matter, there had to be been agreement among the principals on how those seats should be shared to ensure there is equality,” said Makuen governor Kivutha Kibwana.

The party’s national executive council then decided to put off the People’s Assembly forum until disagreements with ODM are resolved.

After last week’s forum in Kakamega, the Machakos forum was part of a series of events planned in NASA’s Action Plan that will culminate in the oath ceremony in Nairobi.

It now awaits to be seen how NASA leaders will react to the demands put forward by the Wiper Party, which is threatening the unity they need.
