They have their own lifestyle, friends and time passing techniques.

Here are some of the places almost each man in this lakeside town visits;

1. Soccer dens

In Nakuru football is next to food and watching the good game is one of the most loved practices, especially among men.

With the number of soccer dens increasing by the day, most of which charge as less as 50 shillings per game, its normal to see them, in their hundreds, crowding the wooden roadside establishments to watch and argue over English, Serie A and La-Liga leagues.

2. Choma dens

Its here where they discuss their domestic problems and serious business proposals and deals.

There exists two types of choma dens; those incorporated in big and descent hotels and the cheap roadside ones preceding butcheries.

Though many of them love the mutura, soup and goat heads offered in these destinations, they tend to retreat to the more established ones to discuss confidential issues, usually located behind the restaurants to spare other customers the heavy smoke.

3. Betting shops

Nakuru men, just like a huge chunk of the remaining Kenyan men, are fond of betting and gambling.

Obsessed with the hope of getting extra money on top of their 'capital', usually a few shillings, they visit the betting shops to try and realize the dream of making a million shillings with a 70 shilling capital.

The sad part is that many of them usually lose.
