As the National Super Alliance (Nasa) is nearing to name its presidential flag bearer, many people are now raising concerns.
In most parts of the country, many people are said to be supporting the Raila Odinga candidature. Some are also backing Musalia Mudavadi while others are after Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking to Radio Ramogi, former Rangwe MP Martine Ogindo (Currently a member of the Congress Party) said that it will be very difficult to convince every tribe to follow the outcome of the vetting committee. He said many people will not turn out to cast their votes in case their "suitable" is not selected.
"Every Nasa principal has his supporters who are ready to vote for him, but if the outcome is not as they expect, there will be voter apathy," he said.
Asked about letting the public to nominate the Nasa flag bearer, he said that it could be the worst idea as those who are not Nasa supporters will also participate by voting in the weaker candidate so that the opposition fails.
"Letting the public to nominate the Nasa flag bearer can be the worst practice. Nasa opponents will ensure they participate by voting in the weaker candidate who cannot challenge Jubilee." he concluded.
