Social media has been awash with reports that Nakuru's entertainment radio, Hero FM, is shutting down after tough times.
Reports of the closure hit fans after a netizen splashed an alleged memo which announced the closure.
We have however, through multiple interviews, established that the alleged memo was fake.
"Reports on closure is just hot air," a source at the radio told our writer.
The radio official Facebook page was also updated on Tuesday at 11:20am and disputed the reports.
"Igore the rumours. We are rebranding," it read.
The station's CEO Sam Gitonga also came out to rubbish the claims.
"It has come to our attention that a memo purported to be from Hero Radiohas been making rounds on social media. The fake memo has not been signed or authorised by the management," Gitonga said.
The young CEO assured Hero fans and staff that everything is looking bright at the station and there was no need for alarm.
Sources at the radio said if anything, Hero is headed to better times as the management has brought and new image by rebranding and pumping in new talent.
Pictures sent to this writer show a new, appealling image of the radio's modern studeio.
