South African politician Julius Sello Malema, has congratulated Kenya's opposition leader Raila Odinga, following his inauguration as People's President on Tuesday January 30.
Malema who is the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), a South African political party, which he founded in July 2013, was a member of the African National Congress (ANC), until his expulsion from the party in April 2012.
He occupies a notably controversial position in South African public and political life, having risen to prominence with his support forANC president, and later President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma.
“Congratulations the people’s President of Kenya @RailaOdinga, no amount of fraud will undermine the will of the people forever,” he twitted.
Malema has been described by both Zuma and the Premier of Limpopo Province as the "future leader" of South Africa.
Uganda's opposition leader Kifefe Kizza-Besigye, also congratulated Odinga shortly after being sworn-in.
He said: "No one can doubt that these people have their president- People’s President! A result of election results that aren’t believable. Making the point an important part of the struggle for democratic transition."
The political and human rights activist and a medical doctor by training, also swore himself-in as president in 2016.
