Uhuru made a remark on his deputy that set the internet on fire that day as a section of the political divide felt that the Head of State was ‘demeaning’ Ruto.

Uhuru said: “Huyu kijana anaitwa Ruto kila wikendi anatangatanga kila pahali. Atakuwa anapitia hizi machorochoro akiona kuna kitu inaenda kona kona mumwambie. Si ndio? Si namna hiyo?

Those who felt Kenyatta demeaned his DP said kutangatanga, which can be translated to moving around or loitering, was inappropriate description of his deputy’s political moves.

This reminded netizens another instance where the President used a ‘derogatory’ language towards his deputy.

Four years ago, Uhuru was captured in another moment where it was deemed the language he used was unfit for a person of the caliber of a Deputy President.

It was at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after Kenya experienced a blood bath where 64 people were killed at the West Gate mall by terrorists.

Uhuru told the DP: “Na uambie hawa watu, hata bibi yako, waache kumangamanga.”
