President Uhuru Kenyatta has hailed the youth in the country for their continued efforts to serve the nation despite all the challenges they face.
The President also cited this character as the sole reason that will make the youth to fight for a better country that is free of discrimination or any form of corruption in the future.
"I have no doubt that the youth in this country are our hope and for as long us they strive to serve the community and the country, for as long as they remain proudly patriotic, they will ensure that no one ever steals Kenyans future," he said.
The President who was speaking during the pass out parade of National Youth Service (NYS) recruits at the Gilgil Training College in Nakuru County on Thursday, also expressed his confidence on the NYS in its role of bringing change to the country in the future.
'We expect very much from our youth and that is why we will not quit on our initiative that is changing the fortunes of so many youth in this country. My government will continue serving the NYS and invest more for the benefit of our youth,' Uhuru further stated.
The president was accompanied by his deputy William Ruto and Youth and Gender CS Sicily Kariuki, Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua among other government officials who also hailed the NYS programme as key in improving and shaping the lives of youth in the country.
