Kisii county Governor James Ongwae has assured county residents that despite the challenges that he has faced as governor in the county there has been a great change in terms of development.

Speaking on Thursday at the Kisii cultural center Ongwae urged the residents to support him in making development strides in the county.

He said despite many challenges more especially political pressures he has encountered since he came to office he has tried to make Kisii county grow in many aspects .

"Just like a young child who has to eat soil, as a county government we have come a long way in terms of development though in a gradual process but we can say we have done the much we can try in moving forward," Ongwae said.

Ongwae was speaking during the fourth devolution conference which was meant to determine the achievements made by the county government of Kisii since devolution came into existence three years ago.

Residents had the opportunity to ask questions and get answered as much as devolution is concerned.

The major issues which were raised were among on the health sector where the residents raised concerns on challenges in the sector at the county level such as lack of drugs, lack of enough medical personnel among other issues.
