The leaders refuted claims of disunity in the coalition saying that the claims are being perpetuated by the Jubilee government to weaken the opposition.

Speaking at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi on Saturday, the co-principals said that they walk together and work together ahead of the 2017 general elections.

“Those who are spreading rumours that there is discord in Cord are only playing propaganda, we want to assure our supporters that Cord is strong and ready to form the next government,” said Raila Odinga.

Odinga said that the Coalition will not break as being perceived by some people.

“We signed a memorandum to work together and deliver Kenya from chains of oppression and we are determined to achieve that promise,” said Kalonzo Musyoka.

Musyoka said that Jubilee government was using some insiders to create disunity in the coalition.

He said that Cord is unbreakable adding that their plan is to form the next government.

“I wonder when some people spread rumours in the media that Cord is breaking up, this information is malicious and only meant to cause anxiety among our supporters,” said Moses Wetangula.

The Bungoma senator said that Cord will remain united ahead of the elections.

Speaking at the rally, Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale assured supported that Wetangula will not quit cord.

“I can assure and want to tell you that Wetangula can only quit Cord when I am dead,” said the Kakamega senator.

Khalwale also blamed some politicians allied to Jubilee and some sections of the Media of allegedly trying to create divisions in Cord.

The Kakamega Senator alleged that the government was afraid of the opposition ahead of the elections and wants to cause divisions among its leaders for their own advantage.

Meanwhile, Cord leaders have denied claims that they used fake post-election violence victims in their Kibra rally last weekend.

The leaders said that the victims who spoke at the rally in Kibra were real and not procured as being alleged by a section of politicians allied to Jubilee government.
