Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Wandago has issued a stern warning to grabbers of public property saying they will be arrested and charged in court.
Speaking to news reporters at Eldoret Education Centre on Tuesday, Mandago said that a stern action will be taken against grabbers of public property.
The Governor said a special team comprising county officials will be constituted to deal with cases of public property grabbing.
“I want to warn all those who think they will grab public property and get away with it. They have no room in Uasin Gishu County,” warned Governor Mandago.
Mandago called on residents to be reporting corruption cases whenever they witness such.
The Governor further asked residents to be vigilant and wary of the people they transact businesses, especially those touching on land.
Mandago at the same time asked county workers to work tirelessly and make sure that residents get quality services.
“Laziness among county workers will not be tolerated. The county uses a lot of money to pay the workers, and they should in turn prove worth of the pay,” added Mandago.
Mandago said the county is committed to providing quality and affordable services to the people.
He asked the locals to support development projects being undertaken by the county government across Uasin Gishu.
