There will be no elections in National Super Alliance (NASA) strongholds, former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has said. The fiery politician said the Opposition decided to keep off the polls after the IEBC ignored their demands for the fresh elections."We will boycott elections in Ukambani, Coast, Western, North Eastern, all parts of Nyanza including Nyamira and Kisii among other regions," said Muthama, speaking during a burial in Makueni. The former Senator further castigated the Jubilee administration for outlawing mass protests in the major cities, insisting that NASA supporters will continue storming in streets to push for electoral reforms.“From Monday we will continue with street demonstrations. We are against the October 26 elections until our demands for reforms are met," he added. However, speaking in Nyeri on Sunday, President Uhuru Kenyatta maintained his government will not tolerate destruction and looting ofproperty during NASA demos."You cannot say it is peaceful demonstrations when people are being robbed. How can it be peaceful when cars and property are destroyed?" the Head of State posed.
