In a spirited argument delivered during an interview with Aljazeera, Deputy President William Ruto has insisted that there will be no elections in 90 days as demanded by opposition supremo, Raila Odinga.
''The constitution provides that there will be a rerun within 60 days, that is what happened on the 26th Thursday last week and Kenya will move on from there. There will be no elections in 90 days. There will be no discussions on matters to do with elections. We will have dialogue with Mr. Odinga on other matters, not matters that have been settled by the people of Kenya in their supreme will in the ballot.'' Ruto said with sounded like total finality.
The remarks throw a wrench in efforts aimed at resolving the political crisis gripping Kenya.
Raila Odinga, had earlier in the day in an interview with Aljazeera, said that he would be willing to engage in talks that would culminate in elections in 90 days
