Cord leader Raila Odinga has assured his supporters that there will be no rigging in the next general election slated for August 2017.
Speaking in Migori on Tuesday, Raila claimed that the past electoral commissions have been adding names of the deceased persons in the voters roll to tamper with the actual number of voters to facilitate the victory of their preferred contestants further saying his side will not allow such to happen again.
''This time round there will be no rigging. In the last elections, the names of dead persons were added to the voter rolls and such must be ruled out this time,''he said.
Rail has also demanded a fresh voter registration exercise nationally in a bid to ensure that the next elections are conducted in a free and fair manner.
The ODM party leader has vied for the presidency thrice and lost in all, blaming the last two (in 2007 and 2013), on rigging and electoral irregularities.
The former prime minister is likely to take a shot again at the presidency in next year's elections and has since led a series of demonstrations that has seen the IEBC commissioners led by chair Isaac Hassan leave office.
