The Orange Democratic Movement national treasurer Timothy Bosire has denied that there is discord in Kenya's single largest party dismissing the claims as ‘creation’ of opponents to dismantle it.

This comes after the party secretary general Ababu Namwamba came out openly claiming to have been shortchanged by a section of the party’s hierarchy.

And Bosire on Monday said the party was ‘stronger’ than ever, and insisted that each member had a constitutional right to speak out without having their rights of expression infringed.

“I have heard some people saying the ODM party is in turmoil. This is just but a creation of people who don’t want the party to progress. We are a democratic party and all members have a right to express their opinions,” he said.

“The ODM party is very strong because it doesn’t belong to individuals. It’s a party founded on principles of democracy which belongs to people. We are a united team and when there is a divergent of opinions, we should not mistake it with fallout,” Bosire added on a telephone interview.

He urged party members to solve minor problems internally before reaching out the public arguing that their rivals will easily intrude and bring discord.

“There could be minor issues to be solved but it doesn’t amount to media attention. Members should use internal mechanisms first before opting to make the matter public. We are a united party and we are confident of winning 2017 polls,” he said.
