Garissa County chief Nathif Jama has faulted the Talamuunge Alliance, saying there is no space for politics of exclusion in his county.
He has said the recently created political outfit would never stand the test of time, disclosing that he will automatically retain his gubernatorial seat in the forth coming August polls.
Speaking in Garissa Town after receiving Omar Abdi who has since dropped his candidature for the Garissa gubernatorial seat, Jama disclosed that the alliance was forwarded by a few individuals who were out to satisfy their own selfish interests and not those of the deserving electorate.
According to the gorvenor, it was unfortunate that few individuals play politics of exclusion in the county, adding that they (Korane and his Talamunge Alliance) would be defeated “very early in the morning”.
“Those who speak of clan-based political alliances are trying to exclude other clans and communities so as to advance your interest. I will not allow politics of division to happen in Garissa under my watch," said Jama.
The Telamuge Alliance which has been viewed as Jama's biggest headache is a clan-based political make up that brings together politicians from the Abduwaq and Samawadhal clans to contest for various elective seats as a bloc.
The political alliance has since proposed Ali Korane as the clan's favourite for the governorship, Dagane Abdi from the Samawathal clan as Korane’s deputy, the incumbent Haji for senatorial position Annab Subow for the Women Representative seat.
