Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula will never succeed in their political ambitions to occupy the State House.
According to former Cabinet minister Musikari Kombo, the two National Super Alliance (NASA) principals will never be supported by the Luhya nation because they 'betrayed' the community by backing ODM leader Raila Odinga.
“Mudavadi and Wetang’ula will never have a taste of the presidency after they betrayed the community,” Kombo was quoted by the Standard while speaking in Tongaren on Sunday.
The former Webuye MP added: "The two lost the blessings we had given them and sold the community’s birth right to a stranger.”
Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Kombo said, is the only current Luhya politician who had a real chance at becoming the Head of State in the near future.
Deputy President William Ruto has promised to name Wamalwa as his running mate in the 2022 general elections.
Both Mudavadi and Wetang'ula have declared their interests at succeeding NASA leader Raila in 2022 if he wins in next month polls.
Raila has pledged to serve for one term if he ousts President Uhuru Kenyatta on August 8.
