Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua already declared his interest in the top seat come 2022 and he insists nothing is stopping him from realizing his ambitions. 

“The journey for 2022 presidency is on course and I know Kenyans will support my bid once that time comes,” Mutua said during a recent function at Machakos People's Park.

Several political leaders have come out to support his bid for 2022 Statehouse race. 

They include;

Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka

Addressing residents in Mwala town on Wednesday, Musyoka said Governor Mutua has the qualities and experience of a president, “We will be championing for Mutua’s presidential bid come 2022 because we believe in him as a leader who has the capability of transforming the country.” 

Former Kitui Senator David Musila

Speaking to the residents at Kyome village in Mwingi  Town on Tuesday, Musila said Mutua has the qualities to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022, “Governor Mutua has the qualities of a leader and as such he will go far in regards to his 2022 presidential dreams.”

Bureti MP Japheth Mutai

Mutai, during the homecoming ceremony for Baringo Central MP Joshua Kandie on Saturday, said Mutua is capable of capturing the presidency should his bid be taken seriously. "It is too early and difficult to predict the outcome in 2022 but Mutua is fit and capable," he said.
