Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua has assured residents that he will be commissioning the construction of Kivandini to Masinga road, January 2017.
"On January 5th, 2017 God willing, I will be commissioning the construction of Kivandini to Masinga road,'' he affirmed during the opening of the Kathiani-Kakuyuni-Kangundo intersection road
Other roads that the Machakos County government is working on include: Katangi to Matuu road; Syokimau road; Katani road; Kalama roads; Matuu to Ekalakala road; Seveni to Muthithini to Ikalaasa, Miu, Kabauni and Wamunyu road; Mwala to Kangundo road; and Ndithini road, among others.
"These roads are in addition to ongoing construction of roads by the National government and my government of Mua Hills road; Kenol to Koma and Kenol to Kangundo road; Konza to Machakos road; Tala to Donyo Sabuk road and the lately commissioned Athi River to Machakos turn off super highway launched on Mashujaa Day by President Uhuru Kenyatta."
Mutua said he was convinced that if people concentrate on development and not just political wrangling and power seeking schemes, citizens and their leaders could transform Kenya to be the great.
"Our people want development – water, roads, food, jobs and shelter. We cannot get these things when we are constantly stealing, fighting, playing politics of poverty and shouting insults. This road built using the Maendeleo Chap Chap paradigm proves that by saving money and focusing on Mwananchi we can become a developed nation,'' he said.
