IEBC chairperson on Wednesday highlighted that his efforts to get his commissioners work together has not been successful because of disunity within.

Chebukati said any proposals he made in plenary meetings were thwarted because members are divided into two hence bringing everything to a standstill.

According to reports by the dailies, the commissioners on the opposing side of the chairperson are the Vice Chair Consolata Maina, Abdi Guliye backed by Boya Molu and Paul Kurgat.

It also appeared that, before her resignation, Dr. Roselyn Akombe and commissioner Margaret Mwachanya are the only ones who backed Chebukati.

Chebukati and allies had proposed they cancel the October 26 polls but the four rejected and due to their majority number, they had their say.

The chairperson further stated that he will no longer be cowed by opposition within the commission.
