Butere MP Tindi Mwale has accused NASA affiliated MPs from the ODM party for shortchanging during elections at parliament.

Mwale said the election of ODM's Abdulswamad Nassir as chairman of the Public Investments Committee was a result of the Raila Odinga party members colluding with Jubilee to take the seat away from him.

During the first round of voting, he had emerged in the lead with eight votes against Ablulswamad and Wiper man Rashid Kassim (Wajir East).

The two garnered seven votes apiece.

The stalemate led to the event's presiding officer Florence Abonyo to order that the three agree between themselves on who gets the seat.

It was here that Mwale said Abdulswamad and Rashid alienated him.

“These people have shortchanged me; they have decided to just talk the two of them and exclude me,” Mr Mwale said.

“It is sad that even people from my region couldn’t vote for me,” he added, blaming NASA lawmakers for abandoning him at the hour of need.
