[Photo: nation.co.ke]President Uhuru Kenyatta is likely to be sworn into office for a second term unless an individual or a civil society group moves to the apex court to challenge his win in the controversial October 26 poll.As at Saturday, all indications showed the Opposition have no plans to challenge Kenyatta's win.
Instead, NASA has another challenge at head which they are dealing with.
This emerged when National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga and his ally Musalia Mudavadi met Opposition MPs in a closed door meeting. It is also in this meeting that Raila disclosed that up to Sh25 billion was offered to him if he accepts to quit politics.Raila told the MPs the Jubilee governmemnt has rolled out a strategy to ensure the opposition does not achieve its objectives in the newly formed National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the people's assembly.Sunday Nation (SN) has exclusively obtained details of the closed door meeting where Odinga spoke with a resigned tone with no talk of challenging Kenyatta's landslide victory in the poll. The opposition boycotted the vote. The NASA leader said Jubilee power mercenaries are targeting Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, himself and Musalia Mudavadi with goodies to ensure they weaken the coalition. In a strategy known as carrot-and-stick within political science, Jubilee is promising plum jobs to the principals, cash or threaten those 'big headed'."Jubilee is watching our every movestep. They want to know Raila's every move and I am sure they are listening to what I am saying here," Raila said as quoted by SN.He claimed Jubilee is ready to buy him off with Sh25 billion."Somebody came to me with sh3 billion so that i go into retirement. he later increased the figure to sh5 billion , later sh10 billion and finally to Sh25 billio. but i kicked the person out the way Jesus mocked the devil with his temptation," Raila told the closed dooor meeting. He also said there are similar manouvres being done to Kalonzo Musyoka to ensure he dumps NASA. This will be followed by Wiper MPs crossing over to the ruling coalition, he said.
