The man linked to the attacker at DP William Ruto's home attack has said that he is being victimised for what he has not done.
Abdikadir Abdi said he has no links with the suspect who was killed on the scene after intervention by security officers.
Standing before Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa, Abdi said members of the public beat up and injured him at Jua Kali Market on the premise that he was Somali and must therefore know the said attacker.
“They pounced on me and beat me up, claiming that I knew him. I don’t know him, and I have no links with him. The only thing I share with him is our Somali origin," said Abdi.
Abdi insisted he was innocent, saying he only operates his legitimate business at Jua Kali.
The court allowed police to continue detaining Abdi for 20 more days pending investigations to establish any links to the deceased.
