Third Way Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has reiterated that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) underestimated his political party when organising for the fresh presidential election.
According to Aukot however, the High Court ruled in their favor despite their small size because of the constitution and rule of law in the country.
"IEBC underestimated our small party size when organizing for the fresh presidential election. However, we have come out as winners after the High Court made its ruling in accordance to the constitution and rule of law," said Aukot.
Aukot nonetheless affirmed that there are issues within IEBC that must be addressed before a fresh presidential election is conducted.
He believes there are people within the electoral body that are responsible for bungling the August polls.
"There are issues within IEBC that must be resolved before the repeat election. There are people within the electoral body who are responsible for bungling the August election and they must be held responsible before the fresh presidential election," added Aukot.
Aukot made the remarks on Wednesday at the Milimani Court after Justice John Mativo ordered IEBC to include his name in the ballot for the presidential election.
