Corruption is unacceptable whether committed by Kamba, Kikuyu, Luhya, Luo or a person from any other community.
It is perturbing when leaders from a particular community come out with their guns blazing in defense of a corruption suspect simply because he or she hails from their community.
When a Luo, Kikuyu or Luhya walks away with millions meant for the common mwananchi it hurts everyone. I am yet to hear a politician who paraded members of his community at a market placed one evening and shared all money he looted while in power.
Most of the corrupt leaders are out there wining and dining with their close family members, relatives and friends as we suffer in scorching sun in order to put food on our tables.
The current leadership is almost rendering the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) useless. It is interesting to note that current leaders have taken over the role of the anti-graft commission. It is only in Kenya where leaders defend corruption for their self-gain.
Most of our leaders are pocketing money through dubious means but when they appear in rallies they claim Tuko Pamoja. It does no make sense to claim that you are fighting for the common mwananchi when you are selling drugs.
t is shocking to realize that some leaders have even stolen relief food. How do you gather courage to defend such thieves because they belong to your community? Let us call a spade a spade. Kenya has lagged behind in development because of corruption.
The new constitution is meaningless if we cannot find a long lasting solution to this vice. We cannot afford to continue singing the same song for decades when our neighbors are electing leaders with the desire to transform their economy.
