East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) have made a partnership with legendary football player Thierry Henry as they seek to promote their Guinness Made of Black program.
As a result the former Arsenal striker will visit Kenya in December to launch a community pitch in Ndakaini, drum up support for the program, as well as help Guiness solidify their market share in Kenya.
The former world cup winner is famous for his achievements in the English Premier League with Arsenal FC and La Liga's Barcelona.
Currently, Henry is the second assistant manager of the Belgium national team.
“This will be my first visit to Kenya and I am so excited to work with a globally renowned brand like Guinness. I have heard a lot about the huge passion for football that exists there(Kenya). I can’t wait to arrive and meet all the dedicated football fans and hear their stories,” said Henry.
Head of Beers at Kenya Breweries Ltd Janice Kemoli confirmed the reports and said the company will be running other promotional programs during Henry's time in Kenya.
"Another Key aspect of this program is our new national consumer promotion. As a result of this partnership, 12 Guinness consumers will get a chance to win Ksh 1 million each and to watch a football match with Thierry Henry later this year in a consumer promotion dubbed ‘Be a Front Row Fan’. In addition, four fans will win Ksh 100,000 and a further 30,000 consumers to win other amazing prizes,” said Kemoli.
