Law enforcement are currently investigating a robbery that took place at the Nyamira County's treasury offices.

According to reports, six computers were stolen after thieves broke into the offices.

Work was brought to a halt as investigators dusted the office in search of fingerprints.

Nyamira South OCPD Riko Ngare says the thieves did not use any force when breaking into the office, thus assuming it must have been an inside job.

Governor John Nyagarama says the only items stolen were the six computers and gave his assurances that those responsible would be apprehended soon.

He further called for an audit of the county treasury to be conducted as he continues to organize his government.

Those holding the office will be scrutinized and will be held responsible if found guilty.

"We have handed over the matter to the police and we believe they will find the culprits," said Mr Nyagarama, as quoted by The Standard.
