Thika and Kikuyu legislators Alice Ng’ang’a and Kimani Ichung’wa recorded statements on Monday evening with the Criminal Investigation Department in Thika stating that their lives are in danger
According to the leaders, they are being targeted every time they move and said that the situation intensified when they joined protestors in Thika’s Makongeni estate, where the protestors were demonstrating against the county government.
Ng’ang’a said that some of the police were targeting her since they hauled teargas cansters on her thrice, and they were standing with the police boss.
“Teargas canisters were hauled at me thrice and we were standing with the OCPD. This means that they were targeting me. No one can disrespect their boss unless they have an ill intention and I continue to urge the police to launch an investigation into the probe to ascertain who is behind the matters at hand,” said Ng’ang’a.
In his part, Kimani said that he wants the police to investigate who shot at his car during the Makongeni demonstrations, saying that he was targeted by the shooter. He further said that the one behind these matters wants to intimidate the leaders and also intimidate Kiambu county residents
“I want to know the one who shot at my car during Makongeni protests because he was targeting me. The police were also using live bullets to disperse the protestors,” said Kimani.
