Thika Administration Police Commander Peter Nzimbi has praised his officers for combining efforts with area community policing team and well-wishers to improve police housing and the structure of their offices.

Speaking on Wednesday, Nzimbi said renovating police housing and offices in the area was first done in his tenure since 1979.

“Residents have complained about our defaced offices that cannot be clearly recognised. We have taken that upon ourselves with the little office money, contributions from my officers and Thika community policing team to ensure we serve Thika dwellers to our full capacities,” he said.

He lauded his officers for working day and night to boost the security of Thika which he said had vehemently improved.

The officer noted that the officers were more secure at their camp after a gate was erected by a Thika town dweller denying intruders opportunity to sneak within their premises without police consent.

“The security of this area must improve. You cannot improve police housing then you expect anything other than heightened security. I thank my officers for contributing to this noble course together with area community policing team and Thika town residents,” he stated.

“We have also resurfaced police vehicles that had been deemed none-functional in a bid to improve patrols and thereby security of Thika residents,” he added promising beefed up security to Thika town dwellers.
