Police officers from Thika police station are investigating a woman who is accused of conning business people in Thika town.

Margret Nyokabi 36 from Makuyu in Murang’a County is said to have now conned eight business people over half a million in duration of two weeks. According to the deputy O.C.P.D Thika, the woman was reported yesterday evening and is said to have been using the name of God to con thriving entrepreneurs.

‘We received this complaints from eight people yesterday, who claimed to have been conned over Sh 500,000 within two weeks, the woman is said to have been inviting the business people in her personal car for prayers only to be conned with promises business growth,’ she said.

James Ikua is one of the now hopeless business men after the scandal got him by surprise. According to him, the woman seems to be using demonic powers to confuse people and later promise the riches.

He was conned Sh 150,000 which he had invested in Equity bank. ‘The con is real and business people should be sensitive as they make deals, I was for instance conned Sh 50,000 on Saturday last week; I was taken into her car and was prayed for just to find myself having signed a Sh 50,000 deal which I forwarded on the same day,’

Maureen Mugure sadly explained. The area police now warn business people to make deals in fishy places and without involving a third parties.

The woman is currently in hide out but the police, according to the deputy O.C.P.D are doing everything in their capacity to trace and arrest her.
