Thika West Constituency Development fund committee chairman Ephraim Njihia has said that they will be holding a meeting on Friday that will ensure needy students receive bursaries from Thika Education Trust Fund.
Njihia, who was speaking to journalists on Wednesday in his Thika office said that the meeting will also focus on corruption issues and favourtism claims in handing out funds to the students.
"Among the many things that we are expecting to discuss is corruption in the issuance of the bursaries we want to ensure that needy, bright pupils and students benefit from the fund maximumly as envisaged," said Njihia.
At the same time, Njihia renewed his call to parents and guardians with needy children not to shy away from applying for the money, which he said belongs to them.
"Our doors are wide open and we welcome those with needy children to come and apply for the bursaries, this money is meant to help you and your children,” added Njihia.
The fund, which was launched two months ago by the Deputy President William Ruto is meant to help needy students in the area to access funds that can help them in their learning.
