With the Kenya vision 2030 among whose plan indicates eradication of poverty, Thika clothing mill has advanced a notch higher in efficiently ensuring timely achievement of the millennium goal.

The launch of a Sh20 million milling machine is projected to escalate productivity and subsequently generate more job positions for unemployed but skilled Kenyans.

The permanent secretary for the ministry of industrialisation Ali Noor Ismael has acclaimed the company for its sustained growth and corporate social responsibilities that have seen employment of over 100 workers while positively contributing to the growth of the competitive industry in Africa.

The PS stated that the government was committed to ensuring a conducive environment for investors in the country through proper business infrastructures.

Businessman Manilal Chandaria criticised the government for sleeping on its duty of ensuring the provision of equitable resources and creation of job opportunities for the semi and skilled youth.

Chandaria asked the government to create a more conducive environment for investors who he said would create more jobs thereby curbing joblessness.

While acknowledging the talent in the company workers, Thika town member of parliament Alice Ng’ang’a vowed to steer the growth of talents in her constituency.

She thanked the company for continually developing alternative activities for the workers adding that the football team would soon be joining the national football league.

Ng’ang’a urged Kenyans to promote their own through an initiative dubbed ‘buy Kenya, build Kenya’.
