Thika West District Community Policing Council officials met on Friday to deliberate on the area’s security status.
Speaking to the press after the indoor meeting at the Thika Starehe community hall, Thika West vice chairman of community policing council Charles Owila said that the area has in the past one month been faced by an insecurity threat.
“We had to convene a meeting to deliberate on what strategies we will use to get rid of the vice,” said Owila.
Owila said that recently, two people were murdered in cold blood and several fires experienced whose cause is not well established.
He assured residents that they will do their best to make sure they uncover all perpetrators of crime before they do harm to the society at large.
“We have set around a number of strategies which we will use in course of our core security role,” explained Owilla.
He further urged the residents to support the Nyumba Kumi Initiative since it is one of the key elements to maintaining security in the district.
