Thika Town CDF Chairman Ephraim Njihia has criticised parents from the area for failure to take their children in the newly opened Thika Girls High school.
Njihia said that they have enrolled 90 students so far in the new institution and only 15 are from Thika Constituency even after giving priority to students from the Constituency by secluding one stream for them.
Njihia claimed that the parents are alleged to have had a meeting and decided to first look at the results of the new school in the end year’s results before taking their students there.
He said that it is so discouraging to see the area MP Alice Ng’ang’a sacrificing to open a Girls’ School in the area after a long time without a Girls Secondary School in Thika.
The school will be officially opened by the Deputy President William Ruto tomorrow (Friday) and the residents have been urged to, despite evading enrolment, attend the opening ceremony and make it a success.
Njihia said that they have sponsored all the 15 students from the constituency as they are the pioneers and hosts to the other students from other parts of the country.
The school admitted student with 409 marks on the highest and 356 on the lowest. This was according to the CDF Chairman who spoke on Tuesday in Thika town.
