Parents who take their children to the street to beg money from the public this festive season will have to face the rule of law and be punished accordingly.

Those that falsify proforma in the name of raising money for churches or wedding thence raising money from the public their days are numbered.

Them that don’t take their children to school from January next year will explain to the authority why they infringe the right for education of a child.

These are the words of Thika west Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Jeremiah Gicheru who was speaking on Friday at Thika Municipal stadium during the 51st celebration of Jamhuri day.

Gicheru was concerned over high number of children in the sub county who beg money to the residents of Thika town terming it as irresponsibility by the parents.

He condemned parents who falsify proforma with illegal stamps that if caught they will be taken to court and he won’t relent whether he or she is the bread winner of the family.

“Wale wazazi wanaotengeneza vyeti  gushi ili kuchangisha pesa kutoka kwa wananchi watakabiliwa kisheria vilivyo,” said the DCC.

The children in the street of Thika is on rampant where some of them indulge into drug abuse and crime while others get involve in immorality which is a major threat in Thika.

He challenged the parents to find other ways of generating income rather than encouraging small generation into crime that they will become inexorable criminals in future.

“Tafuteni njia mbadala ya kutafuta riziki badala ya kuwahusicha watoto wadogo katika mipango itakayozua maafa miaka zijazo,” challenged Gicheru.
