Speaking to the press in her office Thursday, Kiarie said that the law is strict on any criminal acts adding that she will deal with all kinds of criminals in the area head-on regardless of their social status.

“It is very disappointing to see a person stealing from a senior police officer in a police station. We would like to warn all those criminals that we will deal with them,” she added.

Kiarie further stated that action must be taken against suspected criminals to encourage area residents to keep fishing them out of the area.

“We have been entrusted to provide security for all those who live in this town and we must fulfil that to the residents bu arresting and arraigning suspected criminal in court,” she stated.

Kiarie was speaking in relation to a Wednesday incident where her mobile phone was stolen from her office. The phone was later recovered by the police in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). One person was arrested and arraigned in court on Thursday in connection with the crime.
