The new Thika Girls High school is set to be officially opened next week after the various students were sent to the institution after the controversial selection process.
According to the Thika town CDF chairman Ephraim Njihia, the school will be flagged off by the area Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a to kick-start the learning activities for the new students and the pioneer students of the school.
Thika has been without a public girls school for years and the area legislator saw it wise to open the new girls school to ensure the area students have an institution near them rather than going to the far distanced schools.
Njihia said that the CDF office has commissioned all the activities in the institution to see to it that there is a successful learning schedule in the area for the newly joining students.
He added that the students will be offered personal facilities as they are the pioneers of the institution and most of the students from the humble backgrounds will be sponsored by the CDF office that will ensure their fees are paid and fully settled for their learning comfort and ease.
“We have plans to provide the students with all the personal facilities and also sponsor the poor to ensure they are at their learning is taken care of as students need comfort to perform. The CDF office in partnership with the MP is much concerned the fees will be settled fully,” Njihia said.
He called on the parents of those whose children have passed and have not been assigned to any institution to lias with the administration of the new school to ensure they are enrolled as the area residents will be considered and prioritised.
He was speaking to the press this morning during the commissioning of the Ngoliba day school bursary funds in the school.
