Thika level 5 hospital has acquired a new CT scan unit.The CT scan unit was donated by the national government.
Speaking during the commissioning of the new CT scan on Friday, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu stated that he is committed to improve medical services in the county.
“My government is committed to ensure the electorates get access to proper medical care. The new CT scan will reduce transportation cost for patients seeking scan at private hospitals in Nairobi since the scan will be done at the facility,” he said.
According to Thika township MP Patrick Wainaina who was also present during the commissioning, Thika level 5 hospital is the first public hospital to acquire the CT scan unit other than KNH in the country.
Wainaina promised to work with all levels of government to help achieve universal health care for all by 2022.
“I will work closely with the county and national government to ensure my people get access to improved and affordable health services throughout my tenure,” said the lawmaker.
He said more CDF funds will be allocated to renovate and equip local health centers in the constituency.
