Motorists driving along the road said that Blue-post bridge was in a poor condition posing a risk to them.

"The bridge is in a pathetic condition but so little is being done to improve it. Governor Waititu started construction on the road in vain.

Residents in the area also threatened that they might go to the streets so as to pressurise the county government to work on it.

"We cannot go on complaining while the county government remains silent. They have to do something about it whether they like it or not," said John Mbugua, a local.

Mr Mbugua blamed the county government for neglecting its duties.

"The leader should think of doing better in terms of assigning the road works to competent local contractors. We are tired of the shoddy work that is done on these roads, which barely months before potholes appear again,” said John Kamau, a bodaboda rider.
