Speaking to the press this morning in his office, the Chairman said that they are intending to disburse the cash to the students who did not benefit last year when the MP gave out the same to students in all levels of education.

Njihia said that last year they disbursed over Sh4 million from the Sh18 million set aside for the needy students adding that they are going to disburse more than Sh6 million tomorrow (Tuesday) as the number of applicants this time has risen.

Last year, more than 280 students benefitted from the Fund according to Njihia with 17 fully sponsored. He added that they are targeting a much bigger number this time round.

He said that the MP is ready to support any child with fee problem and vowed to support the needy in the education sector saying that education was part of the MP’s campaign promises, which according to Njihia, she has fulfilled by supporting many students who have already benefitted.

The CDF Bursaries are different from the Education Trust Fund and the MP has been receiving donations towards the Trust Fund which is set to be disbursed this month too.

Chairman Njihia has also called on all the needy students who have not applied to avail themselves at the event tomorrow and pick application forms.
