Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a has called on Thika residents to work closely with the new community policing chairman Charles Owila to tame insecurity in the region.
Ng’ang’a said that the stepping down of Paul Njomo from the critical seat went altogether with the end of corruption with his counterpart Shadrack Maithya the former OCPD of Thika west.
She urged the residents to accept and embrace Owila in his endeavors to tame drugs and alcohol abuse among the community which is a major cancer.
The MP cited Kiganjo, Makongeni, Kiandutu and Athena region as the main dens for criminals in Thika constituency urging Owila to mobilize his team to fish out criminals from those areas.
She said that the former leaders were working closely with the criminals and the time has come for changes in the region from the grassroots.
Alice Ng’ang’a who was speaking on Thursday morning at Athena in Thika hailed the Thika fraternity for conducting a peaceful demonstration saying Kiambu is fishing out corrupt leaders from the top government to the grassroots level.
He has called on communities to embrace Nyumba Kumi and Community policing new leadership which she is confidence change will prevail after the security filtration in the sub county.
She cautioned Owila to be independent and not to be influenced by the county leaders who will stop at nothing to ensure Thika residents are oppressed and the criminals are set free.
She vowed to fight for freedom from malicious leaders in his sub county and urged MCAs to work with Owila and chiefs within the community to save youths.
