Thika sub-county MP, Alice Ng’ang’a, has called on area residents to join National Youth Service (NYS) to eradicate unemployment in the county.
Speaking on Saturday at Thika town, the MP said that cases of crime and misuse of drugs have been on the rise in the constituency thus advocated youths to join NYS to curb insecurity in the area.
She reminded the youths that the NYS members are the ones who are likely to be considered in the recruitments of Police and Kenya Defense Force (KDF) in the country advocating them to use the chance.
The legislator expressed her concerns with the increase of crime in Ngoingwa and Kiganjo saying the youths are the ones on record of the heinous acts in the region according to the reports given by the area OCPD Francis Muthamia.
Ng’ang’a fired warning to the perpetrators of the illegal activity in the region saying their days are numbered and in partnership with area OCPD, they will ensure there is zero tolerance of crime in the constituency.
The law maker expressed her concerns with the future generation and saying the future of the county is at stake if appropriate measures will not be taken.
She further urged the youths to join NYS to help tame those perpetrators.
The MP said that she will partner with every resident and chief to tame such heinous acts and called on residents to work closely with Nyumba Kumi leaders.
